General Texas Carbon Questions

What is Texas Carbon?

Texas Carbon is an Austin-based ecommerce brand serving American muscle owners. The catalog focuses on carbon fiber parts and performance upgrades, including custom carbon fiber steering wheels, airbag covers, carbon fiber interior trim, magnetic paddle shifters, spoilers, valved exhaust systems, and select lighting upgrades across supported applications. Texas Carbon is focused on a cleaner buying experience — clear configurators, real carbon fiber where stated, and OEM-style fitment on supported platforms. Learn more on the About Us page.

Where is Texas Carbon located?

Texas Carbon LLC is based in Austin, Texas, serving American muscle owners across the United States.

What makes Texas Carbon different?

Texas Carbon is focused on American muscle platforms. Custom carbon fiber steering wheels are configured to the buyer’s exact selections, with no core deposit and no OEM steering wheel return process required. Carbon fiber products are real carbon fiber unless the product page states otherwise, fitment is OEM-style on supported applications, and the catalog stays focused — steering wheels, airbag covers, trim, paddle shifters, exhausts, and lighting — instead of trying to be everything for every car.

Is Texas Carbon a good fit for my build?

Texas Carbon is a strong fit for owners of the Ford Mustang (S197, S550, S650), Chevrolet Camaro 6th gen, Chevrolet Corvette C7, Mopar platforms including Dodge Charger, Challenger, Hellcat, Durango and Jeep, RAM 1500 and RAM TRX, and Ford F-150. If you are looking for custom carbon fiber steering wheels, carbon fiber trim, valved exhaust systems, lighting, paddle shifters, or related upgrades on those platforms, Texas Carbon is designed around those types of builds.

Is Texas Carbon expanding to more vehicles?

Yes. Texas Carbon is always looking to expand supported platforms and product categories. If you do not see your vehicle in the catalog, email support with your year, make, model, and trim, and the team will let you know whether a product is in development or available on request.

Is Texas Carbon affiliated with Ford, Dodge, Chevrolet, Mopar, RAM, Jeep, or General Motors?

No. Texas Carbon products are aftermarket parts and Texas Carbon is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially connected to any vehicle manufacturer. Vehicle names, platform names, and trademarks are used only to describe potential compatibility and fitment.

Custom Carbon Fiber Steering Wheels

Do Texas Carbon steering wheels require a core deposit?

No. Texas Carbon custom carbon fiber steering wheels do not require a core deposit and do not require returning your OEM steering wheel.

Do I need to send my OEM steering wheel back?

No. You keep your original OEM steering wheel. Required factory components transfer from your OEM wheel to the new Texas Carbon wheel during installation.

What comes with a Texas Carbon custom carbon fiber steering wheel?

You receive the custom carbon fiber steering wheel assembly built to your selected configuration — carbon style, finish, grip material, stitching, and any selected add-ons. OEM airbags, buttons, factory controls, wiring harnesses, paddle shifters, and other factory components are not included unless the product page explicitly states otherwise. These transfer from your OEM steering wheel.

Are Texas Carbon steering wheels new?

Yes. Texas Carbon steering wheels are new aftermarket replacement wheels built to OEM-style fitment standards on supported applications.

Do steering wheels arrive fully assembled?

The custom wheel arrives built to the carbon style, finish, grip, stitching, and add-on configuration you selected. However, required OEM factory components — including the airbag module, buttons, controls, wiring, paddle shifters where applicable, and other required factory components — must transfer over from your original steering wheel during installation.

Are LED displays available?

LED display modules are offered as optional add-ons on many supported steering wheel configurations. Each steering wheel product page has its own configurator that reflects the available options for that specific vehicle. Check the configurator on your product page to confirm whether an LED display is available for your application.

Are LED displays included by default?

No. LED displays are optional add-ons and are not included unless you select the LED option in the product configurator, or unless a specific product page states otherwise.

Can I retain heated steering wheel functionality?

Yes — if your vehicle already has factory heated steering. The heated steering add-on connects to the factory heated steering wheel harness on supported applications and requires that your vehicle originally came with the heated steering feature.

Can Texas Carbon add heated steering to a vehicle that did not come with it?

No. Texas Carbon cannot add factory heated steering functionality to a vehicle that did not originally have a heated steering wheel setup from the factory.

Can OEM paddle shifters be reused?

Yes. Your OEM paddle shifters can be reused with a Texas Carbon steering wheel — unless you select OEM carbon-style paddles or aftermarket magnetic paddle shifters as an upgrade.

Are magnetic paddle shifters available?

Magnetic paddle shifters are available on many supported platforms. Check the steering wheel product page configurator to see whether magnetic paddles are offered for your specific vehicle.

Can Texas Carbon add paddle shifting to a car that did not originally have paddle shifters?

No. Paddle shifter upgrades do not add paddle-shift functionality to a vehicle that did not originally support it from the factory. Your vehicle must already have factory paddle shifters.

Can I choose carbon style, stitching, stripe, leather, Alcantara-style, or suede?

Yes, where supported by the product configurator. Available options typically include 2x2 twill carbon, forged carbon, hex/honeycomb carbon, gloss and matte finishes, grip material (leather, Alcantara-style, or suede where offered), stitching color, center stripe color, and other product-specific options. Available choices are shown directly in each product page configurator.

Are product photos exact examples of what I will receive?

Product photos often show previous customer builds or sample configurations to illustrate options. Your final product is built to the exact configuration you select, but real carbon fiber pattern, stitching, color, screen display, materials, and lighting can look slightly different depending on the options selected, photography, lighting, and screen settings.

Can I get help choosing my steering wheel configuration before ordering?

Yes. Email support@texascarbon.co before ordering with your vehicle details and what look you are going for, and the team will help guide your configuration.

Can I request photos before shipping?

Photos may be available upon request, but they are not guaranteed. Texas Carbon prioritizes timely production and shipping. Many finished customer wheels are also shared on Instagram and product media when available — see Support & Customer Builds below.

Why are Texas Carbon steering wheels priced competitively?

Texas Carbon is focused on giving American muscle owners strong value through clear configuration options, no core deposit, real carbon fiber where stated, and a cleaner buying process without unnecessary friction. Pricing reflects Texas Carbon’s focused catalog, direct ecommerce model, and no-core-deposit buying process while still keeping material, fitment, and configuration standards high.

Airbags, Airbag Covers, Buttons & Controls

Are airbags included with Texas Carbon steering wheels?

No. The factory airbag module is reused from your original OEM steering wheel unless a product page explicitly states otherwise. Texas Carbon does not sell SRS airbag modules.

Are buttons, controls, wiring, and harnesses included?

No, unless explicitly stated on the product page. Buttons, factory controls, wiring, harnesses, and related OEM components transfer from your original steering wheel during installation.

Are Texas Carbon airbag covers the same as airbag modules?

No. Airbag covers are the outer cover only. They do not include the airbag module, inflator, electronics, or any SRS components.

Are Texas Carbon airbag covers replacements or overlays?

Texas Carbon airbag covers are replacement outer covers — not stick-on overlays.

Can I order an airbag cover without buying a steering wheel?

Yes. Airbag covers are available as standalone product listings where applicable.

What customization options are available for airbag covers?

Depending on the product, options can include real carbon fiber, leather, Alcantara-style materials, custom stitching, logo color options, OEM-style RGB/light-up logo variants on supported applications, and embroidered custom logos on leather or Alcantara-style materials where supported. Available choices are shown in each product configurator.

Can Texas Carbon make custom RGB airbag logos?

No custom RGB logo designs are offered. RGB and light-up logos are limited to the available OEM-style logo designs offered by the configurator. Custom logos may be available as embroidery on leather or Alcantara-style materials where supported.

Should a steering wheel or airbag cover be professionally installed?

Yes. Professional installation is strongly recommended for steering wheel, airbag, SRS, clockspring, wiring, and driver-control-related components. See the Disclaimer for more details.

Carbon Fiber Materials, Finishes & Care

Is Texas Carbon real carbon fiber or vinyl wrap?

All Texas Carbon carbon fiber products are real carbon fiber unless a product page explicitly states otherwise. Texas Carbon does not sell vinyl-wrapped or carbon-print imitation parts as genuine carbon fiber.

What carbon fiber styles does Texas Carbon offer?

The catalog includes 2x2 twill carbon fiber, forged carbon fiber, and hex/honeycomb carbon fiber. Forged carbon is also available with colored flake options where supported by the product configurator.

Is hex-pattern the same as honeycomb carbon?

In Texas Carbon catalog language, hex-pattern and honeycomb-style carbon refer to the same general visual style.

What colored forged carbon flake options are available?

Texas Carbon offers a wide range of forged carbon flake color options where supported, with color selectors that allow broad customization. Check the product configurator on each item to see available colors for that specific product.

Are gloss and matte finishes available?

Gloss and matte finishes are available on many products, but finish availability depends on the specific product and configurator.

Does Texas Carbon offer dry carbon?

Texas Carbon does not currently use dry carbon as a standard catalog claim. If a specific product is ever offered as dry carbon, that detail will be stated directly on the product page.

Do some products use a base material with real carbon fiber layered on top?

Yes. Some products may use a plastic or OEM-style base with real carbon fiber layered on top. Construction varies by product, so review the product description for exact construction details before ordering.

What is the difference between replacement pieces and overlays?

Replacement pieces replace the factory component entirely. Overlays install over the existing factory part using adhesive. Each product page indicates whether the item is a replacement or an overlay — review it before ordering.

Will carbon fiber weave or forged carbon patterns look exactly like the photos?

No. Real carbon fiber and hand-finished parts naturally have small variations in weave, pattern, finish, and appearance. Forged carbon especially varies — no two forged patterns are identical, which is part of the character of the material.

How should I clean carbon fiber parts?

Use a clean microfiber towel with water or a mild automotive-safe cleaner. Avoid harsh chemicals, alcohol-heavy cleaners, abrasive compounds, aggressive scrubbing, and strong interior cleaners that could damage the clear coat or finish.

How should I care for exterior carbon fiber?

Use normal automotive care. When possible, avoid unnecessary long-term sun exposure and consider standard paint and clear-coat protection practices used for premium exterior finishes. Clear-coated carbon fiber should be treated carefully like any other quality automotive finish.

Interior Trim, Overlays, Paddle Shifters & Exterior Parts

Are interior trim pieces overlays or replacements?

Texas Carbon offers a mix. Many carbon fiber interior trim pieces are full carbon overlays, while some replacement-style pieces use an OEM-style base with a real carbon fiber skin or layer. Review each product description to confirm whether the item is an overlay or replacement piece.

Do carbon fiber overlays come with adhesive?

Most overlays come with pre-applied adhesive tape, but exact contents vary. Review the product description for what is included with your specific item.

Should I test-fit overlays before installation?

Yes. Always test-fit overlays before removing adhesive backing or installing. Once installed, overlays are not eligible for return.

Are carbon fiber trim pieces DIY-friendly?

Most trim pieces are DIY-friendly for careful installers, but you should follow product-page guidance and consider professional installation if you are unsure. Improper installation is not covered as a defect.

Are magnetic paddle shifters functional?

Yes. Texas Carbon magnetic paddle shifters are functional replacements or upgrades that improve paddle feel and provide a tactile click on supported vehicles.

Do magnetic paddle shifters require factory paddle shifters?

Yes. Your vehicle must already have factory paddle shifters. Magnetic paddle shifters do not add paddle-shift functionality to vehicles that did not originally have it.

Are Camaro mirror covers overlays or replacements?

Camaro mirror covers are overlays unless the specific product page states otherwise.

Are spoilers overlays or replacement/install pieces?

It varies by product. Review the product description to confirm install style and included hardware before ordering.

Do exterior parts include hardware or adhesive?

Most products include the installation materials needed for normal installation, but exact contents vary. Review each product page for what is included.

Valved Exhaust Systems

What exhaust systems does Texas Carbon offer?

Texas Carbon offers Mustang GT valved exhaust systems, Hellcat Charger and Challenger valved exhaust systems, and C7 Corvette exhaust options — including valved cat-back, valved axle-back, muffler delete, stainless, and titanium configurations where applicable. Browse current options in the Corvette, Mustang, and Mopar collections.

Do Texas Carbon valved exhausts use factory active exhaust valves?

No. Texas Carbon valved exhaust systems use their own independent valves, control boxes, and wireless remotes rather than relying on the vehicle’s factory active exhaust controls.

Does the Mustang GT valved exhaust work with or without factory active exhaust?

Yes. The Mustang GT valved exhaust works with or without factory active exhaust because it uses its own valve system, control box, and wireless remotes.

Will a Texas Carbon exhaust work with long-tube headers?

Many long-tube header setups can work when properly adapted, but adapters are typically required and are usually purchased through the header manufacturer. Confirm fitment before ordering — email support with details about your current setup if unsure.

Does Texas Carbon offer stainless steel and titanium exhausts?

Yes, depending on the product. Stainless and titanium options vary by platform and product page. Review each exhaust listing and its configurator to see what is offered for your vehicle.

What is the difference between cat-back, axle-back, and muffler delete?

In general terms: a cat-back exhaust replaces components from the catalytic converter area back; an axle-back replaces the rear section near or behind the axle; and a muffler delete removes or replaces the mufflers for a more aggressive sound. Exact layouts and components vary by platform, so review the product page for what is included.

Does exhaust sound vary?

Yes. Exhaust sound can vary depending on headers, catalytic converters, resonators, engine tune, exhaust material, installation, and overall vehicle configuration. Sound clips on product pages are guides, not exact representations of every setup.

Are Texas Carbon exhaust systems bolt-on?

Texas Carbon exhaust systems are generally bolt-on for supported applications unless the product page states otherwise. Professional installation is recommended.

Do exhaust systems include hardware?

Texas Carbon exhaust systems include the hardware needed for normal installation unless the product page states otherwise.

Are exhausts emissions legal?

Texas Carbon exhaust systems are designed as exhaust upgrades. Customers are responsible for confirming compliance with local emissions, inspection, noise, and road-use laws before installing or using on public roads. See the full Disclaimer.

Are exhaust systems returnable after installation?

No. Installed or used exhaust systems are generally not returnable. See the Refund Policy for full details.

Lighting Upgrades

What lighting upgrades does Texas Carbon offer?

Texas Carbon offers active lighting products including C8-style headlights and tail lights for the C7 Corvette, S650-style headlights for the S550 Mustang, and Gen 3 RGB headlights for the S550 Mustang where applicable. Browse the Corvette and Mustang collections for current options.

Are Texas Carbon lighting products plug-and-play?

Lighting products are designed for plug-and-play style installation on supported applications, but every lighting product is different. Review the product page for wiring, adapter, coding, or installation notes specific to your vehicle.

Do lighting products require coding, wiring, adapters, or resistors?

It depends on the product and vehicle. Review the product description and contact support before ordering if you are unsure whether your vehicle requires coding, adapters, or resistors.

Are RGB lights app-controlled?

RGB controls vary by product, but many RGB lighting products use app-based control. Review the product page for the exact control method on your item.

Are colored/RGB lights legal for road use?

Customers are responsible for checking local laws before using RGB, colored, or custom lighting on public roads. Lighting laws vary by state and locality.

Are lighting products final sale after installation?

Yes. Installed, modified, or used items are generally not returnable. See the Refund Policy for full details.

Shipping, Lead Times & Tracking

Where does Texas Carbon ship?

Texas Carbon currently ships to U.S. addresses only, including Alaska and Hawaii when service is available for the item purchased. See the full Shipping Policy for details.

Does Texas Carbon ship internationally?

Current policy is U.S. addresses only. Customers outside the U.S. should contact support before placing an order to discuss availability.

How long do Texas Carbon orders take?

Typical production timelines are approximately:

  • Most products: about 1–2 weeks production
  • Custom carbon fiber steering wheels: about 3–4 weeks production
  • Exhaust systems: about 4–5 weeks production
  • Most orders are delivered within 8 weeks under normal conditions

Production time is separate from transit time. Complex configurations, high-demand periods, and supplier timelines can affect lead times.

Why do custom orders take several weeks?

Most Texas Carbon products are made-to-order or built to the configuration you select. Custom carbon fiber steering wheels, configured trim, and exhaust systems are produced after the order is placed, not pulled from generic stock.

Does Texas Carbon offer expedited shipping?

No. The current Shipping Policy is standard shipping only. Expedited shipping is not available at this time.

Will I receive tracking?

Tracking availability depends on the item and shipping method. Tracking is available upon request; email support@texascarbon.co with your order number if you want tracking details. When tracking is provided, allow 24–48 hours for carrier systems to update after a label is created or a shipment is handed off.

Why has my tracking not updated yet?

Carrier systems can take 24–48 hours to update after a label is created or a shipment is handed off. If tracking still has not updated after that window, email support with your order number.

Can my order ship in multiple packages?

Yes. Some orders ship in multiple packages due to different production sources, item sizes, or shipping methods. Receiving one package does not always mean the entire order has arrived.

Can I change my shipping address after ordering?

Address changes are only possible before a shipping label is created. If your order is already in production, address changes may not be possible. Email support@texascarbon.co as soon as possible with your order number if you need to request an address update.

Do you ship to P.O. boxes?

P.O. box delivery may be limited to certain items and shipping methods. Larger items typically require a physical street address.

Do oversized items require delivery availability?

For oversized items such as exhaust systems, customers should be available to receive delivery when possible, especially if the carrier requires a signature or specific drop-off location.

Are import duties, tariffs, customs fees, or oversized-item fees possible?

Certain oversized items may incur duties, tariffs, brokerage, storage, port, handling, clearance, or related charges. These charges are the customer’s responsibility unless Texas Carbon agrees otherwise in writing. See the full Shipping Policy.

What if tracking says delivered but I did not receive it?

If tracking shows delivered, the package is considered delivered. Texas Carbon may review reports case-by-case and can assist with carrier investigations where appropriate. See the Shipping Policy for details.

Returns, Cancellations & Damage Claims

Can I return a made-to-order product?

Most Texas Carbon products are made-to-order or built to the customer’s selected configuration, so most sales are final. Returns are generally only approved for major manufacturing defects, shipping damage reported on time, or a Texas Carbon error. See the full Refund Policy.

Can I cancel my order?

Production typically begins within 24–48 hours of order placement. Cancellation before production begins may be approved for a full refund if Texas Carbon confirms production has not started. Cancellation after production begins is generally subject to a 50% cancellation fee, and orders cannot be canceled after shipment. Contact support as soon as possible if you need to cancel.

Can I change my order after placing it?

Order changes are not guaranteed. Email support@texascarbon.co as soon as possible after placing your order. Changes may not be possible once production begins.

What if I ordered the wrong item or wrong configuration?

Fitment and configuration are the customer’s responsibility. Texas Carbon may help when contacted quickly, but wrong-item or wrong-spec issues are generally not returnable once production, shipment, installation, or use has occurred. If you are unsure about your configuration, contact support before ordering.

What if my order arrives damaged?

Do not install or use the product. Email support@texascarbon.co within 24–48 hours of delivery with photos of the box, shipping label, internal packaging, and product damage. Keep all packaging until the claim is fully resolved.

What if I find a manufacturing defect?

Manufacturing defects must be reported within 14 days of delivery and should include the order number, a description of the issue, and clear photos or videos. Always inspect products before installation. Claims submitted after installation, modification, or use may be denied.

What counts as a major manufacturing defect?

Examples include structural defects such as delamination, cracking not caused by shipping or handling, broken mounting points, obvious manufacturing failure, an incorrect build relative to the confirmed configuration, or missing critical components included in the sale.

What is not considered a defect?

Changed mind, subjective preference, minor variation typical of carbon fiber or hand-finished parts, damage caused during installation, improper handling, misuse, modification, or fitment issues resulting from ordering the wrong item or configuration.

Are installed, test-fitted, modified, or used items returnable?

Generally no. Installed, mounted, test-fitted, modified, or used items are not eligible for return.

Are exhaust systems returnable?

Exhaust systems are eligible for return or refund only for a major manufacturing defect, and only if the system has not been installed and is returned in original, properly packaged condition. “Didn’t like the sound or style” is not an eligible reason for return.

Do returns require approval?

Yes. All returns require written authorization from Texas Carbon before anything is shipped back. Unauthorized returns may be refused.

Who pays return shipping?

If Texas Carbon confirms a defect or its own error, Texas Carbon will cover return shipping or provide instructions. If an exception return is approved outside of the standard policy, the customer pays return shipping and a 30% restocking fee may apply. See the Refund Policy for full details.

Support, Product Photos & Customer Builds

How do I contact Texas Carbon?

Email support@texascarbon.co or visit the Contact page. Email is the best channel for fitment, configuration, order, and support questions.

What should I include when asking about fitment?

Include as much relevant information as possible:

  • Vehicle year
  • Make
  • Model
  • Trim
  • The product you are considering
  • Photos of your current steering wheel if asking about steering wheels
  • Photos of your airbag, buttons, or paddle shifters if relevant
  • Photos of your current exhaust setup if asking about an exhaust
  • Photos of your current lighting if asking about lighting
  • Order number if asking about an existing order

You do not need to provide your VIN unless a product configurator or the support team specifically asks for it.

Is email or social media better for order issues?

Email is best for order issues, fitment questions, cancellations, address changes, and anything that needs documentation. Social media is fine for general questions, but email is the best support channel.

Can I message Texas Carbon on Instagram or TikTok?

Yes — but for anything involving an order, cancellation, address change, or support request, email is best so the team can find and document your order quickly.

Where can I see Texas Carbon product photos, installs, and customer builds?

Follow @texascarbonfiber on Instagram for product photos, finished customer builds, and installed examples. Texas Carbon also shares product content on TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook when available.

Can customers submit photos or videos to be featured?

Yes. Send installed photos or videos through support channels, or tag Texas Carbon on social media. Texas Carbon shares product updates, installs, and customer builds across its social channels when available.

Are product photos always previous customer configurations?

Many product photos show previous customer orders, example builds, or sample configurations to illustrate available options. Use the configurator and product description as the source of truth for the exact options included in your build.

Can Texas Carbon help me before I order?

Yes. Reach out before ordering if you are unsure about fitment, configuration options, heated steering, LED displays, paddle shifters, exhaust compatibility, lighting installation, or anything else. The Texas Carbon team would rather help you get the configuration right the first time than try to fix it after production has started. Email support@texascarbon.co or visit the Contact page to get in touch.
